Latest Helping Of Deadpool 2 Set Photos Find The Merc All Strung Up

The Merc With a Mouth is all strung up in this latest helping of set photos for Deadpool 2, which emerged online via Just Jared.

Though Zazie Beetz’s Domino has been stealing headlines left, right, and center, another helping of Deadpool 2 set photos have found their way online that swing the spotlight back in the direction of the Merc With a Mouth.

Captured by the eagle eyes of Just Jared, the images below find our foul-mouthed anti-hero dangling from a parachute that appears to be stuck on some form of billboard, so we can only assume that Wade’s latest stunt didn’t go exactly as planned. No further details were disclosed at this time, and given how secretive Fox tends to be when it comes to its pool of blockbusters, that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.

If nothing else, it’s further confirmation that Deadpool 2 is right on schedule. These pictures were taken on the streets (or indeed above the streets) of Vancouver, which has been playing host to David Leitch’s sequel ever since the cameras began rolling two months ago. Since then, Julian Dennison of Hunt For the Wilderpeople has climbed aboard in a mystery role, joining the aforementioned Zazie Beetz, Josh Brolin (Cable), Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), T.J. Miller (Weasel) and Dopinder (Karan Son).

Here’s that latest batch of photos from the Vancouver set:

Held up as the comic book equivalent of Rush Hour, Deadpool 2 now faces the tall order of emulating the success of its irreverent forebear. First released early last year, Tim Miller’s hilarious and at times raunchy R-rated pic stormed to $783 million worldwide, so perhaps its successor will break into Hollywood’s exclusive billion-dollar club? Time will tell.

Deadpool 2 shoots for theaters on June 1st and is one of three X-Men tentpoles due to release in 2018 – the other two being New Mutants (April 13th) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which will herald the advent of alien empress Lilandra (Jessica Chastain, perhaps?) as Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey begins to lose control of her mutant abilities.
