Deadpool 2 Will See The Return Of Blind Al

The majority of Ryan Reynolds' original supporting cast had already been confirmed to reprise their roles for 20th Century Fox's upcoming Deadpool 2, but now the list is complete, as we've just been informed that the Merc With a Mouth will once again engage in some hilariously inappropriate banter with his grouchy, IKEA obsessed old roomie, Blind Al.

While being interviewed by Black Film about her role in the upcoming HBO movie, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, veteran actress Leslie Uggams was asked about her possible return as Blind Al, and confirmed that she will indeed be back for the Deadpool sequel with a simple, “definitely.”

Director David Leitch’s follow-up is already jam-packed with characters (in addition to the returning Vanessa, Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Weasel, we also have Cable and Domino – that we know of), so we probably shouldn’t expect too big of a role for Al. However, there should still be at least a few opportunities for Uggams and Reynolds to harness the great chemistry that they shared during their brief scenes together in the first film.

Deadpool 2 is reportedly on course to commence production at some point this June to meet an unconfirmed 2018 release date. It was recently announced that Josh Brolin will be playing Cable, while Zazie Beetz is on board as his extremely fortunate partner, Domino. Casting details beyond that remain scarce, but with the sequel gearing up to get in front of cameras quite soon, we should have more updates for you in the coming weeks. As always, watch this space for more.
