Yesterday, we were treated to the very first official still image from Fox’s upcoming Deadpool film, and now two new photos have been released, courtesy of EW and Empire. One of them features a perfect recreation of a scene from the initial leaked test footage, while the other shows us our first official look at newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as the Merc with the Mouth’s mutant pal, Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
In the comics, Negasonic is the code name of Ellie Phimister, who has the powers of telepathy and precognition. She’s a former student of Emma Frost, who was played by January Jones in X-Men: First Class. Considering the time gap and the fact that Frost appears to have been killed between the events of First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, that little detail will likely be changed.
With Deadpool‘s release date fast approaching and San Diego Comic-Con just around the corner, this should just be the tip of the iceberg as far as marketing goes, so expect to see plenty more reveals in the coming weeks.
Directed by Tim Miller, Deadpool will hit theaters on February 12th, 2016 and stars Ryan Reynolds and Brianna Hildebrand alongside Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein and Andre Tricoteux.
