Dragan Roganovic, better known as Dirty South, has released a short film on iTunes today titled With You. The producer/DJ, who hails from Australia, is currently prepping his second studio album of the same name, which is due out on November 4th, and this short is set to act as a tie-in of sorts for those interested in exploring the album’s themes a bit more.
According to iTunes, With You tells the following story:
“A young boy falls in love with a girl from another planet, who has the unique ability to heal things. When they kiss for the first time he finds out she also has the ability to take life away. He survives, but he is robbed of his memory of her and we catch up with him 20 years later. Now a struggling artist, he grapples with the memory of his only love and sets out on a quest to find her once more.”
Dirty South weighed in as well on the film, adding:
“The beginning was the album,” he explains, “I made ten tracks, and when I listened back to them and I thought, ‘Wow, this sounds like the score to a movie that hasn’t been made yet’. And that’s when I started putting a team together and trying to make it happen.”
At only $1.99, With You is a no-brainer for fans of the Aussie musician, and should be on the watch-list of anyone who appreciates creativity and true artistic passion. It’s an enjoyable watch and should definitely tide you over as the countdown for the DJ’s upcoming, and highly-anticipated album, begins.
So, head on over to iTunes (where the film now sits at #1) and be sure to pick up your copy of Dirty South‘s With You.
