Take A Look At Doctor Doom In New Fantastic Four Leaked Set Photos

We're less than a year away from Chronicle director Josh Trank's reboot of The Fantastic Four, but 20th Century Fox has kept nearly every detail about the film under tight lock and key. The only things we know for sure are the cast (which includes Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, and Miles Teller) and a few minor tonal details from producer Simon Kinberg.

We’re less than a year away from Chronicle director Josh Trank’s reboot of The Fantastic Four, but 20th Century Fox has kept nearly every detail about the film under tight lock and key. The only things we know for sure are the cast (which includes Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, and Miles Teller) and a few minor tonal details from producer Simon Kinberg.

The rest remains a mystery, as Fox opted out of cashing in on the marketing bonanza that is San Diego Comic-Con. We don’t even know the status of the film’s production, as Mara posted that filming had wrapped in July, only a week after Jordan commented that the script was “still evolving.”

Despite Fox’s best efforts to keep all aspects of the project a complete mystery, a few leaks have occurred. Last month, an image of The Thing appeared online, while today gave way to some new set photos featuring the film’s villain, Victor von Doom.

Doom, played by Dawn of the Planet of the Apes‘ Toby Kebbell, is standing in a room completely shrouded in green screen in what looks like an incomplete costume. He sports the iconic green hood and cloak, which appears to be much less formal than is typically depicted. Then of course there’s his armor, which appears to be more organic in nature and frankly looks kind of cheap. Doom appears to be facing off with someone in mo-cap clothes, who will likely be turned into The Thing in post-production, while a pre-CGI Johnny Storm hangs around as well.

Behind the scenes photos are notorious for featuring unfinished glimpses at things that will be polished and perfected in post-production. So, while these first images of Doctor Doom may be a bit alarming, just remember that there’s likely a lot of work left to be done.

Whether it gets a marketing campaign or not, Fantastic Four hits theaters on June 19th, 2015.
