Dopinder Tries To Join The X-Force In New Deadpool 2 TV Spot

Dopinder tries to join the X-Force in this hilarious new TV spot for David Leitch's Deadpool 2, which hits theaters on May 18th.

In a film full of highlights and standout moments, Karan Soni’s Dopinder arguably stood head and shoulders above the rest as Deadpool‘s true breakout star.

Back in 2016, Dopinder was little more than a vengeful taxi driver who befriends the Merc With a Mouth once the bullets start flying, and it was the at-times effortless chemistry between Soni and Ryan Reynolds that had fans falling in love with Dopinder. He’s since gone on to become the Merc’s trusty getaway driver, of course, and that’s exactly where things pick up in Deadpool 2, the David Leitch-directed sequel that’s now on the verge of its primetime release on May 18th.

Ahead of that, though, Fox is ramping up the marketing machine and have today delivered a brand new promo which you can watch up above. Unsurprisingly, it places the spotlight on the aforementioned Dopinder, who puts his name forth for a spot on the X-Force roster. Unfortunately for the taxi driver, however, the Merc is looking for someone with diabetes.

Though what we have here is mostly recycled footage, the sequel’s shaping up quite nicely and everything we’ve seen so far looks great, which has us hopeful that DP has a long future on the silver screen ahead of him. Although, he may not be headlining any further solo outings, as Reynolds isn’t prepared to commit to a third film just yet, as the Powers That Be currently have their sights trained on Drew Goddard’s X-Force movie.

It’s a team-up piece that will bring together the likes of Deadpool, Domino, Cable, Colossus and, if the comic books are any indication, Boom Boom, Shatterstar, Feral, Archangel and Fantomex. Chalk that up as conjecture, of course, as Goddard’s ensemble pic isn’t expected to begin filming until the fall.

Closer to home, though, Deadpool 2 is due to light up theaters on May 18th and promises another wild ride for fans of the Merc with a Mouth.
