Eddie Redmayne. He may not be a household name at the current moment but just you wait. From a fantastic performance in My Week With Marilyn to another strong turn in the upcoming Les Miserables, the British actor is starting to leave his mark on Hollywood. After flirting with roles in high profile films like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy, Redmayne has now signed up for the upcoming film from the Wachowski siblings, Jupiter Ascending.

Set to star Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, the film (which is hoping to kickstart a franchise), will follow a “toilet-scrubbing Russian immigrant (Kunis) who actually has the same genetic makeup as the immortal Queen Of The Universe, and thus threatens her rule. A bounty hunter is then dispatched to take her down (Tatum), but they fall in love and go on the run.” Redmayne’s role hasn’t been confirmed just yet but when we hear more we’ll let you know.

Production will begin in early 2013 and apparently the film is quite ambitious, with the Wachowskis saying that they plan to introduce something just as revolutionary as “bullet-time.” They have stated that it will be “a big visual idea” but other than that, very little is known about what they have in store for us. Whatever it is though, you can bet that Jupiter Ascending will be something special. The last film we saw from the siblings, Cloud Atlas, was quite spectacular and if they can capture even half of the magic from that film, we’ll be in for something special with Jupiter Ascending.

As for Eddie Redmayne, like I said above, the young actor certainly has talent and it’s nice to see him building up such a respectable filmography. He’s making some great career choices and if he keeps on this path, I think he’ll have a bright future ahead of him.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to seeing Eddie Redmayne in Jupiter Ascending?
