The director’s latest Instagram upload sees actor Emilio Rivera of Sons of Anarchy fame posing with a placard for the upcoming sequel to 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects. Seen below, the Rivera photo is just the latest in an ongoing line of prison mugshots exhibiting the cast of Zombie’s next horror movie, with previous posters showing Sid Haig, Bill Moseley and Danny Trejo in the same context.

Check it out:

While it isn’t yet clear how literally we should be taking these images, we do know that at least some of the cast of Three From Hell will spend some time in the slammer, most notably Haig, Moseley and Sheri Moon Zombie as Captain Spaulding, Otis, and Baby, respectively. Set photos have seen the film’s titular trio of killers heading to and from court, hence Zombie’s oft-repeated hashtag “#freethethree.”

Of course, the three can’t be freed if they’re no longer among the living, and all these promotional pics have yet to offer a proper explanation as to how Spaulding, Otis and Baby seem in such good shape after being shot full of bullets at the end of Devil’s Rejects. Granted, Zombie himself did offer a hint last month when he pointed out the bullet wounds visible on Baby’s arms in a set photo. If it turns out to be a simple matter of the bullets missing every vital organ in these characters, then fans might feel a little cheated, but hopefully the director can still deliver a horror film that’s deliriously gruesome enough to justify keeping the trio alive.

Three From Hell won’t be hitting theaters until 2019, but Moseley has already assured us that our “mindsies are gonna be big time blown!” Until then, we’re relying on Zombie to keep the news and the images coming.
