Ant-Man-Wasp-Video-Avengers-4-Connection

Evangeline Lilly Might Have Spoiled Ant-Man And The Wasp’s Post-Credits Scene Months Ago

Though Ant-Man and the Wasp was mostly standalone, its post-credits scene tied into the events of Avengers: Infinity War in a major way. Hank Pym, Janet and Hope Van Dyne were all shockingly turned to dust by Thanos' finger snap, leaving Scott Lang trapped in the Quantum Realm. It was a surprise development that presumably set the stage for more from Ant-Man in Avengers 4. But it turns out that Evangeline Lilly might have previously spoiled the sequence ahead of time.

Back in December, the Wasp actress shared a snap of herself from the Marvel Studios set. Fans were mostly interested in the fact that she had her hair styled like she did in 2015’s Ant-Man, but it seems that the real spoiler was hidden in Lilly’s caption. “Another day done and dusted,” the star wrote. That line sounded pretty innocuous to us before we’d seen Infinity War, but now it looks like Lilly chose her words carefully here and was actually dropping a tongue-in-cheek hint as to her character’s fate in Ant-Man 2.

That’s not to say there isn’t still a mystery surrounding Lilly’s hair in this pic, though. The actress didn’t sport that style in the Ant-Man and the Wasp sting, so presumably she wasn’t filming that scene at the time, despite her teasing caption. As we theorized before, then, it looks likely that we can expect the old hairdo to make a comeback in Avengers 4.

Ample evidence suggests the film will revisit the events of past Marvel movies like The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. So it wouldn’t be too much of a leap to assume the remaining heroes will jump back to the time of Ant-Man as well. Especially as it seems time travel will be achieved via Scott’s understanding of the Quantum Realm.

In the meantime, you have to admire Evangeline Lilly’s smart, sneaky teaser for Ant-Man and the Wasp. In fact, her Marvel co-stars Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo might want to take notes on how to drop spoilers in subtle ways.
