Action thrillers are a dime a dozen in Hollywood, so when one of them shoots a little higher than usual, we tend to notice here at We Got This Covered. That’s why we’re pleased to be able to exclusively debut new stills and artwork from the indie high-concept thriller Checkmate, which looks at the same heist from six different perspectives.

Starring Danny Glover, Sean Astin, Vinnie Jones, Mischa Barton, Michael Pare, Johnny Messner, Katrina Law, Willa Ford, Antwon Tanner and David Chisum, Checkmate “chronicles how the actions of individuals affect us all, as six people are thrown together during an elaborate bank heist where any move can alter the outcome,” according to the film’s official press release. It was directed by Timothy Woodward Jr. and written by Henry Mitchell, Calvin Cox and Jennifer Lynch.

No trailer yet, but the film is currently is post-production and slated for release in 2015, so expect that sometime soon. Though Checkmate certainly looks like it’s going to be filled with explosive action, the plot also gives me hope that it will be a workout for the brain as well as the senses. But even if it isn’t, with a cast as stacked as Checkmate‘s, I don’t doubt I’ll be checking this one out anyway.
