Exclusive Video Interview With The Cast And Director Of The Equalizer

When The Equalizer premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival a couple of weeks ago, it earned fairly positive reviews and the approval of audiences. This isn't exactly surprising, either. After all, the film sees Denzel Washington reuniting with his Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua, nearly 14 years after that crime thriller earned widespread acclaim and landed Washington an Oscar. That and the fact that The Equalizer is based on a pretty successful TV series, pretty much meant that Sony was going to have a hit on their hands with this one.

Having seen the film, I can tell you that it’s certainly worthy of the buzz that’s surrounding it. With another strong performance from one of Hollywood’s most desirable leading men, fantastic turns from supporting players like Chloe Grace Moretz and Marton Csokas, and confident and stylish direction from Mr. Fuqua, The Equalizer is a mature, adult thriller that is sure to please moviegoers once it touches down in theatres this Friday.

While the film’s cast and director were in Toronto a couple of weeks ago, I landed an exclusive interview with them. Chatting with Denzel, Chloe and Antoine about their latest effort, I asked them about why they think the premise/concept of the film is still relevant today, why it took Washington and Fuqua so long to team up again, plans for a sequel and more.

Check it out in the video above and be sure to catch The Equalizer when it shoots its way into theatres this Friday!
