This news will either be music to your ears or will make you want to punch the wall. Yes, Sylvester Stallone will not be writing or directing a sequel to The Expendables, this presents good and bad news. The good news: we won’t have to suffer through a film Sly has written or directed, the bad news: there will be a sequel to The Expendables. The sequel to the $275 million grossing movie was announced even before the release of the first film, and now Sly is on the hunt for a person to helm the sequel.

The script will be written by David Agosto and Ken Kaufman, who together wrote the perfectly whimsical comedy Space Cowboys for Clint Eastwood. Also, Stallone has hinted that Bruce Willis (who cameoed in the first) would be the film’s ‘super villain.

I honestly can’t be bothered with Sylvester Stallone, any good will towards him that he reclaimed from Rocky Balboa was lost with the repugnant Rambo. His brand of action movies are just incredibly boring, as well as morally questionable, and I can’t see another director changing that. (The Playlist)
