Those who’ve been unhappy with most of the news regarding Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot should probably turn back now, because what we have here is quite a handful of potentially infuriating plot details.
They appeared on sites like 4chan, Reddit, CBM and SuperheroHype over the weekend, and may very well be nothing more than a convincing bit of fan fiction (let’s not forget about that fake Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice script that made the rounds earlier this year). However, this is a 20th Century Fox superhero film, and despite recent hits like X-Men: Days of Future Past, the studio doesn’t exactly have the best track record when it comes to adapting comic books for the big screen. Hell, just look at the last two Fantastic Four movies!
But I digress. The new details give an overview of the entire film, including character motivations, how the titular superhero family comes together and gets their respective powers, and how Doctor Doom fits into the equation. Some of it fits with previous bits of information we’ve heard, including the new Doctor Doom character description, but on the whole, it definitely doesn’t sound as “completely different” from the previous Fantastic Four films as star Miles Teller (who plays Mr. Fantastic himself, Reed Richards) had us believe.
