Fantasy Becomes Reality In First Trailer For Netflix’s True Memoirs Of An International Assassin

Kevin James kicks ass and takes names in the riotous first trailer for True Memoirs Of An International Assassin.

You’ve heard of Paul Blart, haven’t you? Mall Cop extraordinaire? Across both the 2009 original and its bonkers sequel, Kevin James was thrust into an action-heavy role that we haven’t typically seen from the actor before. With True Memoirs of an International Assassin, James is about to take that to the next level.

That’s because Jeff Wadlow’s actioner will place James in the role of Sam Larson, a humble, mild-mannered author who is struggling to overcome writer’s block in his bid to publishing a debut novel. Imagine his surprise, then, when his nonfiction book becomes an overnight sensation. There’s just one small catch – Larson’s publisher consciously added the word ‘true’ to the masthead, fooling everyone into believing that James’ bumbling protagonist is actually a deadly killer-for-hire. Shenanigans ensue.

Though it’s likely to evoke comparisons to Adam Sandler’s crude Netflix offerings, True Memoirs of an International Assassin comes packing more personality and a little less of the crass humor littered across The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over. There’s even signs that the Kevin James-fronted actioner will break through the fourth wall, even if explosions and shootouts tend to take precedent in today’s reveal trailer.

Kevin James will recount the True Memoirs of an International Assassin in the most outrageous way possible when Jeff Wadlow’s over-the-top actioner makes a beeline for Netflix on November 11. Maurice Compte, Zulay Henao and Andy Garcia also star.

The action comedy stars Kevin James as Sam Larson, a mild-mannered would-be author who gets mistaken for a killer-for-hire when his fictional novel about an international assassin is published as a true story. When the book is a huge success, he is suddenly kidnapped, taken out of the country, and forced into an assassination plot. On Netflix November 11.
