Production is officially underway on the New York set of David Frankel’s (Dear Diary, The Devil Wears Prada) character drama, Collateral Beauty.

Of the star-studded cast that New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. have assembled, today’s first set photos feature both Edward Norton and Keira Knightley on the streets of the Big Apple, who in all likelihood are among the ensemble as work partners to Will Smith’s troubled marketing executive.

Coming face-to-face with a personal crisis, the core pitch of Collateral Beauty places Smith as the anchor of Frankel’s drama, and it’s this personal crisis that inspires his work colleagues to devise a scheme that will help ward off any lingering depression. But a bulletproof plan this is not, and while fending off his inner demons, Smith’s haunted exec crosses paths with the personifications of Love, Time and Death.

With Will Smith, Edward Norton and Keira Knightley headlining the feature, the remainder of the cast is rounded out by Ant-Man‘s Michael Peña, Naomie Harris, Jacob Latimore, along with Kate Winslet and Helen Mirren, fresh off their award-worthy performances in Steve Jobs and Trumbo, respectively.

Collateral Beauty has been slotted into a December 16 release date. There, it’ll be rubbing shoulders with Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, though it’ll be more interesting to see how Frankel’s drama fares against its fellow Oscar contenders, as opposed to box office alone.
