First Fantastic Four Trailer To Debut Alongside Kingsman: The Secret Service

Few properties elicit more passion in modern cinema as comic book movies -- and rightly so. More often than not, the source material for each of these big-screen adaptations has been kicking around for decades, accumulating a sizeable built-in audience in the process. So, given that Fox botched the initial release of Fantastic Four back in 2005 followed by its middling sequel, fans of the superpowered quartet have questioned Josh Trank's upcoming retelling, which will reboot the IP from scratch.

Few properties elicit more passion in modern cinema as comic book movies — and rightly so. More often than not, the source material for each of these big-screen adaptations has been kicking around for decades, accumulating a sizeable built-in audience in the process. So, given that Fox botched the initial release of Fantastic Four back in 2005 followed by its middling sequel, fans of the superpowered quartet have questioned Josh Trank’s upcoming retelling, which will reboot the IP from scratch.

With a new cast in tow — one which comprises Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller and Jamie Bell — the director, bouyed by the success of his breakout film Chronicle, will be hoping to take the series in a whole new direction. And what better way to put Josh Trank’s retelling to the sword at this early stage than the debut of Fantastic Four‘s first trailer?

According to writer-producer Simon Kinberg, that date isn’t too far away, after he revealed to Latino Review that the first look footage will be attached to another of Fox’s properties, Kingsman: The Secret Service, which is due to arrive on February 13 in North America. Those in the UK will reportedly be able to glimpse the trailer earlier, though, as the Colin Firth-led spy caper is scheduled for January 29.

In addition, Kinberg also touched upon the recent reshoots, with the film undergoing an additional 3-4 days to tie up some unspecified loose ends.

“Fantastic Four will be doing 3-4 days of additional photography with director Josh Trank and some key cast members. We are very excited about the film and can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to,” said Kinberg

We’ll gain a better understanding of the tone and style within Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four when the trailer debuts in a few weeks time. The full feature will grace theaters on August 7, 2015.
