CinemaCon may have concluded, but the Suspiria footage, which was shown during Amazon Studios’ luncheon, still has attendees a little queasy, even three weeks later.

Have you not heard? Dario Argento’s horror film, widely regarded as a Giallo masterpiece, is currently receiving the reimagining treatment courtesy of the Amazon subsidiary and Academy Award nominee Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name). If you’re a tad apprehensive about the remake, which is currently situated in post-production, rest assured that the reinterpretation will be as “disturbing and gruesome” as the original.

Guadagnino screened an exclusive clip from his reimagining in Las Vegas last month and, needless to say, it settled fans’ hesitations. Apparently, the footage saw a dancer meticulously “torn apart” in a flourish of “urine, spittle, and blood.” Hungry yet?

While the clip, unfortunately, has yet to make its way online, or a trailer, for that matter, we’ve now got the next best thing; a release date and the first look at Dakota Johnson in the pic. That’s right, Luca Guadagnino’s remake will hit theaters on November 2 and along with the release date, Amazon unveiled the first two images of Johnson in action, which you can check out below.

Written by David Kajganich, the Luca Guadagnino-directed remake stars the Fifty Shades actress as ballet student Susie Bannion, who transfers to a prestigious dance academy with a sinister and supernatural history. Filling out the cast are Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, and Academy Award-winner Tilda Swinton.

With the release date now confirmed, Suspiria could see a premiere on the summer film festival circuit ahead of its bow in theaters, if we’re lucky. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted should a trailer appear.
