London’s famous Trafalgar Square was given a facelift recently as it welcomed Warner Bros. and Patty Jenkins’ hotly-anticipated Wonder Woman to town.

As Diana Prince’s origins story is a tale set to be told across three different time periods, today’s trio of set photos feature Gal Gadot’s Amazonian warrior donning period garb as she partakes in what looks to be a military homecoming – or indeed some form of celebration – staged by the British army. Could this be from the closing scenes of the film?

What we know for sure is that Wonder Woman will feature a segment from World War I, where Gadot’s heroine meets Chris Pine’s soldier and love interest Steve Trevor. Fans have also spotted Diana Prince’s friend Etta Candy (Lucy Davis) among the crowd. Other cast members in Jenkins’ standalone movie include Robin Wright, Danny Huston, Säid Taghmaoui, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya and Ewen Bremner, though they’re nowhere to be found.

In terms of the story fuelling the action on screen, Wonder Woman is said to open on Themyscira, introducing us to the character’s origin and her sister Amazons. From there, all signs point to Ares entering the fray as the chief villain, wielding an ancient blade that is said to hold enough power to bring the world to its knees. One way or another, Gadot’s lead will have her work cut out.

Wonder Woman isn’t the only superhero feature that has set up shop in the British capital, given that Marvel’s Doctor Strange is also capturing scenes on the London streets. The former is on course to open in theaters on June 23, 2017, while the latter is pegged to arrive on November 4, 2016.
