Israeli actress Gal Gadot is about to become a very big star. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of months, you’ll know that she’s been confirmed to be playing Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman. That’s not all though. Variety is now reporting that the actress will also play the character in both the Justice League film and in a standalone movie, and that she’ll earn $300,000 for each project.
To me, this deal makes perfect sense. If the studio is having her show up in Batman vs. Superman then they obviously need her to be on board for Justice League and at least one standalone film as well. And, by not signing her for any further films, it allows them to drop the character if audiences don’t respond well.
We’ve seen with Marvel properties that some actors are signed for 6 or 7 projects. With Wonder Woman, however, it’s a bit trickier as bringing the character to the big screen hasn’t been the easiest thing to do. It seems as if Warner Bros. is just testing the waters here and given the cirucmstances, that’s definitely the right move.
You can catch Gal Gadot was Wonder Woman when Batman vs. Superman opens on May 6th, 2016. Tell us, do you think 3 movies for the character will be enough? Let us know in the comments section below.
