The Game Begins In Two New Jigsaw TV Spots

After taking a lengthy – and much needed – hiatus from cinemas, the Saw franchise is finally ready to once again shed gallons of blood with its latest installment, Jigsaw. But despite featuring a returning Tobin Bell who’s set to reprise the role of John Kramer in some capacity, all signs point toward a copycat at play.

Who that may be remains unknown, of course, but it’s important to note that neither Costas Mandylor nor Cary Elwes are set to feature here, so either there’s a new player in town after all, or this series is about to take an unexpected supernatural turn. Regardless, we can’t wait to see what the final twist will be and now, with the film set to arrive later this month, Lionsgate has begun to ramp up the promotion.

Seen above and below are two brand new TV spots for the horror sequel that tease some of the twisted scares to come. They’re both rather brief, but certainly get the job done by giving us a tantalizing look at a few of the traps that’ll be featured in the film, in addition to what appear to be some very violent moments. In other words, if you’ve been a fan of the series up to this point, this new entry should be right up your alley.

Working from a script put together by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg (Piranha 3D), the sequel formerly known as Saw: Legacy will feature a cast comprised of Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Matt Passmore, Hannah Emily Anderson, Josiah Black, Shaquan Lewis, Michael Bolsvert and James Gomez.

Jigsaw will lay claim to Halloween once Michael and Peter Spierig’s horror sequel lights up theaters on October 27th. That’s a release date it currently shares with the second season of Stranger Things, proving that horror fans needn’t worry about a lack of content this Halloween season.
