Thanks to the tie-in virtual reality experience for Lionsgate’s upcoming Power Rangers movie, we now have our first fleeting peek at Bryan Cranston as Zordon, the all-powerful sage and mentor to our Mighty Morphin’ teens.

And we do mean fleeting. If nothing else, the blurry pic – one captured from a mobile device – confirms that Zordon will retain his neon-blue appearance, relaying words of wisdom to our budding Power Rangers Wizard of Oz-style while imprisoned in some form of time warp.

Indeed, if Dean Israelite’s reboot stays true to the lore, and we’re inclined to believe it will, we know that it is Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks) who’s responsible for ensnaring Zordon, who originally bested Rita long before the Rangers came onto the scene – now, they’re the only thing standing between Banks’ wicked alien and galactic destruction. In terms of the above image, if you squint a little closer, you’ll also catch a glimpse of Alpha 5 (Bill Hader) in the bottom left corner, the loyal alien companion to both Zordon and the Rangers themselves.

Power Rangers Now posted the pic online, noting that Lionsgate’s virtual reality experience will allow budding fans to step into the cockpit of those signature Zords closer to release. The full VR game, which is still without a release date, will be demonstrated in Las Vegas tomorrow, January 5, indicating that it won’t be too much longer before Lionsgate officially introduces Bryan Cranston’s wise old sage to budding fans.

Also starring Dacre Montgomery (Red Ranger), Naomi Scott (Pink Ranger), RJ Cyler (Blue Ranger), Becky G (Yellow Ranger) and Ludi Lin (Black Ranger), Power Rangers will storm into theaters on March 24.
