In less that two weeks Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot will hit theaters, and we’ve now entered into the final stages of the marketing push. Today, Sony Pictures released the first full clip from the movie, which features the new team of spectre-hunters taking their ghost-catching gadgets for a test run.
In the brief sneak peek, Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), and Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon) try out a couple of Holtzmann’s (who appears to be the Egon of the team) latest inventions, with predictably mixed results. We then see the origin of that “deadly high five” gag from the most recent trailer.Â
There’s no doubt that what we’ve seen from the movie up to this point has not gone down well with the majority of fans. Some were against the all-female team from the beginning of course, but a lot of people just don’t like the idea of this franchise being rebooted in any way, and also don’t find the trailers/TV spots very funny.
Will Feig and his undeniably talented cast manage to pull it all off? We’ll find out when Ghostbusters is released on July 15.
