Ghostbusters Star Leslie Jones Is Hoping For A Role In The Deadpool Sequel

Thanks to her work on Saturday Night Live, Leslie Jones is widely - and rightly - considered one of the funniest people in America right now. The critically panned Ghostbusters reboot means that she's had a rough time of it lately, though the actress was considered one of the film's breakout stars, so it wasn't all bad. While we wait for Sony to make a decision on whether or not she'll get to reprise her role in a sequel (though according to Ivan Reitman, she will), it seems that Jones has turned her eye to another high profile project.

While we wait for Sony to make a decision on whether or not she’ll get to reprise her role in a sequel (though according to Ivan Reitman, she will), it seems that Jones has turned her eye to another high profile project. Taking to Twitter earlier today, she reached out to Ryan Reynolds to say that she wants to make an appearance in Deadpool 2.

“I want to be in deadpool. I could be smart mouth side kick. And my power would be loudness!!”

There’s no denying that it would be a lot of fun seeing Jones show up in the next Deadpool movie, but who she could play is hard to say. There is one relatively new character though who she actually bears a striking resemblance to. That’s Emily Preston, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who died in battle and ended up sharing Deadpool’s body for a while before she had her consciousness moved into an L.M.D.

While Jones may be well suited to someone like Preston, will there actually be any room for her in the sequel? Considering the fact that both Cable and Domino are showing up, probably not, but the actress’ interest is something that the right people will hopefully keep in mind for a future instalment of the Deadpool franchise.
