Dubbed Marvel’s “deadliest showdown,” the pic heralds a titanic battle between Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Thanos, the unruly Mad Titan who’s been lurking in the shadows ever since the post-credits scene of The Avengers. Six years later, and Josh Brolin’s über-villain is finally ready to leave that levitating space throne and take matters into his own giant, oversized hands.

There’s an apocalyptic invasion on the cards, then, and the Russo Brothers will be calling upon every single hero in the Marvel pantheon – yes, even Hawkeye – to fend off Thanos and his Black Order.

Now, thanks to Instagram user superhero_world1996, we have a gorgeous new poster to whet our appetite with that shows off Spider-Man’s upgraded armor in all its glory. It is, essentially, the same one offered to Peter at the tail-end of Homecoming, though we imagine Tony Stark has thrown in a few more bells and whistles to beef up the hero’s arsenal.

Check it out in the gallery down below along with a few more recent efforts from superhero_world1996:

As you can see, the hero’s new Iron Spider-inspired suit has a “metallic finish, glowing eyes, and a bigger, gold spider emblem.” And, as we said above, there will no doubt be even more nifty features and gadgets on it that are revealed once Infinity War swings into theaters, which is certainly a good thing for Peter Parker. Because let’s face it: Tom Holland’s wall-crawler will need all of the bleeding-edge tech he can get his webs on if he’s to really stand a chance against Thanos and his unruly Black Order.

After all, the Infinity War teaser showed Spidey being pinned down by one of the film’s primary antagonists. Though considering Holland’s hero has already been confirmed for Avengers 4, it does lower the stakes somewhat. There will, of course, still be casualties in Marvel’s Infinity War though, after Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that the Powers That Be have already named the expendable characters. Who those characters are, however, remains to be seen. But make no mistake about it, not everyone will make it out of the film alive.

Once Black Panther has its time in the sun on February 16th, Marvel will begin pulling together its costumed crusaders for what is undoubtedly the biggest MCU movie to date. Yes, there’s an Infinity War on the horizon, and Joe and Anthony Russo are expected to kick things off on May 4th, 2018, before the so-far untitled Avengers 4 puts a bow on Marvel’s Phase 4 the following year.
