Guardians Of The Galaxy Gets 25 Seconds Of Action In New Teaser

Now that the summer movie season is in full swing, Disney and Marvel have ramped up the marketing for their upcoming cosmic superhero movie, Guardians of the Galaxy. Today, we’ve already been treated to a new poster, character bios, and the announcement of a second trailer, which arrives on Monday at 10:30AM PST. Thankfully, director James Gunn knows how daunting that three day wait will be, and has kindly released a 25-second, action packed teaser to tide us over.

Though it’s very brief, I’m pretty impressed with the amount of exciting new footage that Marvel was able to fit into the tease. If nothing else, I imagine that it will give anxious fans plenty to dissect and analyze until Monday morning arrives.

Guardians of the Galaxy hits theatres on August 1st, 2014. Check out the official synopsis below, and be sure to stay tuned as we’ll have the new trailer for you right here when it launches on Monday.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team – the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits – Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand – with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
