Gwyneth Paltrow Has A Cameo In Spider-Man: Homecoming

Something Marvel fans have been wondering about for a while now is where the heck has Pepper Potts disappeared to? Over the three Iron Man movies, Tony Stark and Pepper seemed to have grown into an unbreakable couple, but then Captain America: Civil War dropped the bombshell that the pair had separated. After that, we thought we'd seen the last of Gwyneth Paltrow in the MCU. As it turns out, though, we thought wrong.

After that, we thought we’d seen the last of Gwyneth Paltrow in the MCU. As it turns out, though, we thought wrong.

That’s because the actress has a cameo role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming. GeekTyrant‘s got a hold of the full cast list for the movie and it reveals that Paltrow is reprising the role of Pepper, marking her first appearance in a Marvel film since 2013’s Iron Man 3.

Her part in Homecoming makes a lot of sense from what we know about it. The trailers have revealed that Stark will play a mentor role to Peter Parker in the film, with a visit to Stark Industries on the cards. So, it would be easy to find a place to fit in the company’s CEO, which Pepper has been since Iron Man 2. Likewise, another Iron Man movie regular, Jon Favreau – as Tony’s bodyguard Happy Hogan – is also on board the reboot.

The big question now is will Paltrow’s role be big enough to reveal any details about Stark and Pepper’s relationship? For instance, are they back together? Even if they aren’t, the random off-screen break-up has annoyed many fans for a while now, so it’ll be nice to see the character once again.

Intriguingly, the cast list also reveals that Stan Lee’s customary cameo will this time see him play a character named Gary, while Chris Evans is also credited as Steve Rogers – though that could just be for the short Captain America video that Peter watches in school (as seen in the trailers).

Starring Tom Holland, Robert Downey. Jr, Michael Keaton and many others, and directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming swings into theatres on July 7th.
