As you may have heard, John Carpenter’s timeless classic from 1978 will soon get the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray treatment just in time for its 40th anniversary. If you were to ask this lifelong fan, there are fewer better ways than a souped-up re-release to commemorate movies of this caliber.

With the street date being just over one month away, our appetites are being whetted courtesy of a new trailer that’s been put forth, and can be viewed at the top of this article. It may contain footage many of you know forward and backward, sure, but you have to admit that it does a fine job of encapsulating the flick that introduced the world to Michael Myers in under two minutes.

When it comes to the bonus features, rest assured that you won’t be left disappointed. To reiterate, here’s a full rundown of what will be on hand:

  • Audio Commentary with Writer/Director John Carpenter and Actor Jamie Lee Curtis
  • “The Night She Came Home” Featurette
  • “On Location: 25 Years Later” Featurette
  • TV Version Footage
  • Trailer
  • TV Spots
  • Radio Spots

And should you somehow be new to the bandwagon, here’s a synopsis that’ll let you know what to expect:

“On a black and unholy Halloween night years ago, little Michael Myers brutally slaughtered his sister in cold blood. But for the last fifteen years, town residents have rested easy, knowing that he was safely locked away in a mental hospital — until tonight. Tonight, Michael returns to the same quiet neighborhood to relive his grisly murder again…and again…and again. For this is a night of evil. Tonight is Halloween!”

Halloween arrives on 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack on September 25th. Let us know if you’ll be picking up a copy in the comments section down below.
