First Look At Henry Cavill As Clark Kent In Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Last year's Man of Steel wasn't just a re-telling of Superman's origin story - it was sort of a Clark Kent origin story as well. Sure, star Henry Cavill played Clark throughout the film, but he wasn't the mild-mannered, bespectacled Daily Planet reporter that we all know and love. That particular iteration of the alter ego didn't appear until the very last scene in the film, on Clark's very first day at the iconic newspaper.

Last year’s Man of Steel wasn’t just a re-telling of Superman’s origin story – it was sort of a Clark Kent origin story as well. Sure, star Henry Cavill played Clark throughout the film, but he wasn’t the mild-mannered, bespectacled Daily Planet reporter that we all know and love. That particular iteration of the alter ego didn’t appear until the very last scene in the film, on Clark’s very first day at the iconic newspaper.

Now that the origin is out of the way, we’re expecting to see a lot more of Supes’ alter ego in the upcoming sequel, Batman V Superman: Dawn of JusticeSuperman will presumably be a full-fledged superhero this time around, and throw on the tie and glasses between saving cats out of trees and stopping Lex Luthor from taking over the world.

A new image from the set of BVS shows Cavill in what is almost full-on Clark mode. The picture comes to us from the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, who released it to show that Cavill supports their organization. It’s not very revealing or anything, but considering we’ve been anxiously eating up any and all details surrounding the film, it’s still exciting.

Don’t worry, Cavill’s lack of glasses is probably no cause for alarm. As seen at the end of Man of Steel, he’s definitely using his trademark disguise on screen, so we’ll get the chance to see just how quickly Bruce Wayne is able to figure out his secret.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in theaters on May 6th, 2016. The film stars Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Amy Adams, Ray Fisher, Jason Momoa, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, and Jeremy Irons.
