Here’s What Zac Efron Would Look Like As Nightwing

Though the DC Extended Universe looked to be in rough shape there for a while, things finally began to turn around this week when Warner Bros. announced that Matt Reeves was locked in to direct The Batman. Following that, they then confirmed Ben Affleck's involvement as well, signalling that everything was good to go on the Caped Crusader's solo outing. But there was also another announcement which took the internet by storm, and that was that Chris McKay, director of The LEGO Batman Movie, would be bringing us a Nightwing film.

Though the DC Extended Universe looked to be in rough shape there for a while, things finally began to turn around this week when Warner Bros. announced that Matt Reeves was locked in to direct The Batman. Following that, Ben Affleck confirmed his involvement as well, signalling that everything was good to go on the Caped Crusader’s solo outing. But there was also another announcement which took the internet by storm, and that was that Chris McKay, director of The LEGO Batman Movie, would be bringing us a Nightwing film.

Understandably, fans were sent into a frenzy by the news and so far, a number of actors have either voiced interest in the role of the titular hero or found themselves at the front of various campaigns, pushing for them to get the part. Just yesterday, we brought you some very cool art of Supernatural star Jared Padalecki as Nightwing, which seemed rather appropriate as the actor has been a fan favorite pick for a while and admittedly, would be perfect for it. Now, someone else has found themselves as the subject of some intriguing art, and that would be Zac Efron.

Artist Boss Logic has taken to Twitter once again to share a design of Efron as Nightwing. Impressive as ever, the photo does a great job at imagining the Neighbors 2 actor in the role, and while he’s certainly not fans’ first choice, he could be an interesting pick to bring the character to life.

You can take a look at the art in the gallery below, along with a few other designs that Boss Logic drew up.

Not bad, right? Though some may scoff at the idea, Efron’s been proving himself as a legitimate leading man lately and while he’s mostly seen in more comedic projects, he’s shown that he can do dramatic stuff, too – and he’d need to handle both of those elements for this particular role. Whether or not he’s ready to play a superhero in a big blockbuster is up for debate, but he’s certainly got the build for it and he’s been rumored for various Marvel projects in the past, so he clearly has interest in the genre.

While there are definitely other actors who would be better suited for Nightwing, we also wouldn’t be totally against seeing Efron get a shot at the part. Out of all the superheroes out there, this is one that could probably work out well for him and if the actor is really looking to prove that he’s more than just a pretty face, this film would no doubt help him do just that.

What do you think, though? Would Zac Efron make a good Nightwing, or did you have someone else in mind? Let us know in the usual place!
