The first images have been released for Cameron Crowe’s We Bought A Zoo. The film stars a number of fantastic actors such as, Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, and Thomas Haden Church.

Damon plays Benjamin Mee, who along with his family, “used their life savings to buy Dartmoor Zoological Park, a dilapidated zoo, replete with 200 exotic animals facing destruction, in the English countryside.”

The pictures include most of the main cast and seem to hint towards a lighter, breezier film for Cameron Crowe, which seems slightly odd considering the recent news that the film will be scored by Jónsi, known for his unusual but relaxing melodies. However, I feel that the mix of Jónsi’s sounds and Crowe’s visuals will breed together to create something completely unique.

“I wanted to direct again, and it was so much fun to get back into it,” Crowe said. “The size of this film felt right. I just wanted to get back into a group of characters and feast on all of them.”

We Bought A Zoo is based on the memoir of Benjamin Mee and the film was written by Aline Brosh McKenna of The Devil Wears Prada fame.

Besides the fact the film has a remarkable cast, director Cameron Crowe has created now-classic films like Jerry Maguire, Say Anything, and Almost Famous; need I say more?
