A lot of people are excited for X-Men: Days of Future Past, and rightfully so. Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class was an excellent entry not just into the series, but into the genre as a whole. Though the odds were stacked against it, it turned out to be a thrilling adventure for everyone’s favorite mutants and now has us all eagerly anticipating Bryan Singer’s follow-up.

We already know that the film will be combining the characters from Singer’s original trilogy with those of Vaughn’s reboot, but there will also be some fresh new faces thrown into the mix, one of which is Quicksilver, who will be played by Evan Peters. Today, 20th Century Fox has released a couple new photos from the film and one of them gives us our first look at the aforementioned mutant. Admittedly, it’s not the best look, as Wolvie, and the young versions of Professor X and Magneto surround him, but you can still get a glimpse at how the character will appear in the film. At least he’s sporting his signature silver hair.

The other intriguing thing about Quicksilver is that the character will also be showing up in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Though in that film, he’ll be played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, so it will be interesting to see how Singer handles that and how large of a role Quicksilver will play in his film.

As for the other photo, it’s of Beast and Wolverine both staring at someone, or something, in shock. We’re not sure what exact situation they’re in but we’ll let you use your imagination.

X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, 2014.
