Picking up the torch from Paul Feig and his band of Ghostbusters, it is Roland Emmerich’s long-in-development sequel Independence Day: Resurgence that adorns the latest issue of Empire Magazine.
Welcoming the return of Jeff Goldblum’s David Levinson, who now presides over the newfound Earth Space Defense force by the time Resurgence rolls around, the one-sheet also features one of the invading aliens ensnaring Goldblum’s lead with those iconic tentacles. Could the image be teeing up a scene involving Goldblum, the locust-like extra-terrestrial and some good old-fashioned telepathy? We’ll find out soon enough.
That’s because Independence Day: Resurgence is set to loom over Earth’s atmosphere in little over a month’s time, thrusting humanity into another battle against extinction.
