New International Trailer For Riddick, With Vin Diesel’s Sexy Voice

Vin Diesel is having a very good 2013. First the return of the Fast and Furious franchise with Fast & Furious 6 – I was barely able to handle the awesome. Then, in September we have the upcoming sequel to Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, handily entitled just Riddick. You know, to avoid confusion. If the title wasn’t enough, the new international trailer for Riddick leaves no room for doubt as to just who this movie is about.

The plot for Riddick follows our beloved see-in-the-dark anti-hero as he lies stranded on a lifeless planet, fighting off alien predators. He winds up having to activate an emergency beacon to alert the mercenaries that are out searching for him, just to get off the planet. But based on this trailer, the mercenaries soon find themselves in need of Riddick’s peculiar brand of badassery just in order to survive. Oooo.

The new international trailer features Vin Diesel’s deep and sultry voice telling us just how badass he is. Pithy one-liners abound, and it looks like there’s going to be plenty of action, with Riddick fighting both the mercenaries and the aliens. In some ways, this looks a bit closer in plot to Pitch Black – stuck on a planet with alien predators, unlikely alliances between Riddick and the other characters – than the more grandiose Chronicles of Riddick. I will miss Dame Judi Dench, though.  Still, we’ll have Vin Diesel’s fabulous bald head and the return of Karl Urban to make up for it. I think that Riddick never looked better.

Riddick will hit theatres on September 6, 2013. It stars, along with Diesel and Urban, Jordi Molla, Matt Nable and Katee Sackoff. among others.
