Are Iron Man And Captain America Still At Odds In Avengers: Infinity War?

Captain America: Civil War was a monumental entry in the MCU as it tore the Avengers in half. In particular, it saw Captain America and Iron Man come to loggerheads over the Sokovia Accords and the fate of Bucky Barnes. Now, Avengers: Infinity War will pick up the story a couple of years later and audiences will finally get to see how the characters have changed.

Will Tony Stark and Steve Rogers still be at odds though when the events of Infinity War kick off? CinemaBlend pitched this question to Chris Evans and the longtime MCU star revealed that, by and large, the two leading Avengers will put their differences aside in order to concentrate on the all-important mission at hand.

“I don’t think either one of us are ones to hold grudges. I think we operate very binary, utilitarian approach to most things we do, and I don’t think we let emotion dictate our reality. It’s been a couple years, so I think we both, to some degree… not moved on, but maybe buried some things.”

In some ways, Steve already buried the hatchet with Tony at the end of Civil War. Though he broke the rest of Team Cap out of the Raft and went on the run, he sent Stark a letter explaining that he’s sorry for how things went down and is willing to help out whenever the world is next in danger. Given this, there shouldn’t be too much of an issue in the pair coming together to defeat a common enemy: Thanos.

That said, it looks like Infinity War will keep the duo away from each other for the most part. As revealed in the recent trailer, Iron Man will led a team of assorted Avengers and Guardians to Thanos’ homeworld of Titan. Cap, meanwhile, will lead the charge against the Outriders in Wakanda. Still, we expect an emotional reunion during the movie’s big final act.

Avengers: Infinity War is now just a handful of weeks away, as it hits theaters on April 27th.
