JAson Goes To Hell

Jason Goes To Hell Documentary Reveals Previously Unseen BTS Images

To be honest, Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is my least favorite entry into the entire Friday the 13th series, but I can at least understand why it has its supporters. Boasting an outlandish plot which saw Mr. Voorhees hop from body to body, I guess it was to be expected that not everyone would take to this sharp left turn from the norm, but you kind of have to admire the filmmakers for sticking to their guns.

Now, in preparation for the flick’s 25th anniversary, Nick Hunt is directing a new documentary, Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees: The Making of the Final Friday, which seems pretty self-explanatory. But, if you require a little more information, you should be thrilled to know that Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus – and others – are willing to spill their guts regarding the movie’s production. Who knows, maybe he’ll tell us things that are just as interesting as his stealth reveal of Jason being a Deadite?

In the meantime, several never-before-seen images taken at the time of Jason Goes to Hell have surfaced over at Bloody Disgusting. And as you can see in the accompanying gallery, they take us inside the many facets of production by highlighting work on miniatures and prosthetics, in addition to giving us a gander at what appears to be an instance of stunt choreography.

Here’s a little more of what those involved in the exploratory picture had to lend to the outlet:

“Through our contacts with the various cast and crew of the production, we have actually been provided with several gigabytes worth of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos from the set of the film which we will be including in the documentary. We are also pleased to announce that the first set of Jason Goes to Hell alumni joining us on this journey includes John D. Lemay (Steven Freeman), Brooke Scher (Baby Stephanie), Adam Cranner (Ward), Richard Gant (Coroner), Kathryn Atwood (Alexis-The Blonde Camper), and LEGENDARY fx master Robert Kurtzman (Adam Marcus’ next feature Secret Santa, From Dusk til Dawn, Predator, Cabin Fever, and many more).”

As of now, this Friday the 13th documentary lacks a concrete release date, but we’ll keep you posted as more information becomes available.
