Cut from the same cloth as the filmmaker’s previous ensemble comedies, it is Jennifer Aniston that leads an all-star cast in today’s new footage in what is being billed as, ahem, the “mother of all comedies.”

Featuring a screenplay by Anya Kochoff-Romano and Lily Hollander, Mother’s Day chronicles a series of overlapping stories across three generations. Aniston’s single mother and recent divorcée Sandy in many ways anchors the story – a new clip below kicks off Sandy’s Mother’s Day in somewhat unusual fashion – whereas Hudson’s workaholic mom goes through Hell and high water to do the unthinkable – stage a bonding session with her mother.

On the other end of the ensemble, Julia Roberts’ Miranda stars as an astute TV host, with Jason Sudeikis completing the core lineup as a fellow single parent and potential love interest to Aniston’s Sandy. Britt Robertson, Timothy Olyphant, Hector Elizondo and Jack Whitehall also star.

Come April 29, Mother’s Day will take full advantage of its opportune holiday release window. In the meantime, you can get acquainted with Aniston’s single mom et al. via the gallery below.
