Today we have our first look at one of the most anticipated films of 2013, The Lone Ranger. This first image depicts the film’s two stars, Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer, in their respective roles, Tonto and The Lone Ranger.
To me, this first image is quite surprising. It’s very raw, very real, and very cool. It seems a lot more serious than I would have expected, even though the film does apparently feature comedy. Still, I expected more of a big blockbuster feel like The Tourist, than say Sweeney Todd, which is what I get from this photo.
The film is directed by recent Academy Award winner Gore Verbinski, the man at the helm of the first three Pirates Of The Caribbean films and Rango.
Production has just started on the film so to get an image this early is great, and hopefully as the production continues we will have a look at what will surely be some interesting co-stars in Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson and Barry Pepper, among others.
The Lone Ranger stars Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter,Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper and James Badge Dale, and will be released on May 31st, 2013.
