Earlier today we heard that Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street will be arriving in a three hour cut, which is music to my ears. Now, we’re hearing some more interesting news about the film. According to star Jonah Hill, he took a punch to the face for one of his scenes, courtesy of Jon Bernthal.

“[Scorsese] looks at me and goes, ‘Hey kid, you wanna try when he hits you for real?’ I don’t wanna look like a wuss… so I turned to [Leonardo DiCaprio] to try and make eye contact to say, maybe, ‘Ok, Marty, maybe do something else’. So I don’t answer and I look to Leo and… he completely looks away and leaves me hanging!” Hill told Contact Music.”

“We go out there, we do the scene… [Bernthal] just decks me… I wore big fake teeth and they split and flew out of my mouth…! I’m on the floor and I’m in a daze and I just hear Scorsese (say) out loud, ‘His face is swelling, get him some new teeth and let’s shoot it!’ Someone put some teeth in my mouth and they filmed my face swell.”

In addition to that interesting tidbit of trivia, we also have several new photos from the film as well as a new TV spot. Actually, maybe we shouldn’t say new as it features mostly recycled footage, but there are a couple of shots in there that we haven’t seen yet.

For those who don’t know, The Wolf of Wall Street stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey and Jean Dujardin, among others. Based off Jordan Belfort’s memoir of the same name, it follows the story of the titular stock broker, played by DiCaprio, who becomes a multi-millionaire by the age of 26 and ends up as a federal convict 10 years later. Having read the book, I can tell you that it’s a wild and outrageous story and I can’t wait to see how it translates to film.

The Wolf of Wall Street arrives on Christmas Day. Check out the new TV spot and photos below and let us know if you’re excited for the film in the comments section.
