Action Figures Provide New Looks At Both Cyborg And Steppenwolf As They’ll Appear In Justice League

Of all the many DC blockbusters cramming up the pipeline - Batgirl, Nightwing, and Gotham City Sirens...to name but three - Justice League is ready to assume center stage at this weekend's San Diego Comic-Con, where it'll be joined by James Wan's Aquaman spinoff and, presumably, Wonder Woman 2.

Of all the many DC blockbusters cramming up the pipeline – Batgirl, Nightwing, and Gotham City Sirens…to name but three – Justice League is ready to assume center stage at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, where it’ll be joined by James Wan’s Aquaman spinoff and, presumably, Wonder Woman 2.

Diana Prince’s long-in-development solo movie graced theaters earlier this year, and the outpouring of support – not to mention those impressive box office numbers – was enough to fast-track talks of a sequel, one which will reportedly herald the return of writer-director Patty Jenkins at the helm.

But long before Jenkins reunites with Gal Gadot, the Immortal Warrior will join forces with her DC peers to form the Justice League, a team of metahumans capable of defending Earth from otherworldly threats. For in Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon’s upcoming blockbuster, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Batman, and the rest of the gang will be left facing Steppenwolf, the DC mega-villain to be played by Irish actor Ciaran Hinds.

CGI and cutting-edge VFX will be used to bring the cosmic entity to life on the big screen, and while we fully expect to catch a glimpse of Steppenwolf and his wicked ways this coming weekend, CBM has relayed the next best thing: a Steppenwolf action figure designed to take you up close and personal with the villain in question, albeit in miniature form. Ditto for Cyborg, after Ray Fisher himself took to Twitter to share a close-up of a Justice League action figure.

With $765 million under its gold-plated belt and scores of positive reviews to its name, Wonder Woman stands as a difficult act to follow, but we’ll be able to see what all the fuss is about once Justice League hits theaters on November 17th. Aquaman, meanwhile, has been penciled in for release on December 23rd of 2018, and if online speculation is to be believed, it won’t be the only DC tentpole to light up the big screen next year.
