The Justice League Battle Thanos In Epic New Fan-Made Trailer

Every comic book fan would love to see the heroes of Marvel and DC cross paths on the big screen, but let's imagine for a moment what would happen if they just took each other's places. For instance, what would it be like if the Justice League faced Thanos the Mad Titan instead of the Avengers? As the DC Extended Universe isn’t nearly as stuffed with heroes as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the trailer borrows some characters from other franchises to bolster the numbers. Namely, the likes of Ben Affleck’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill’s Superman are joined by Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern and TV’s Green Arrow (Stephen Amell). The creator also uses clips from The CW’s Grant Gustin as the Flash in place of the DCEU’s own Ezra Miller. Most likely due to the fact that there’s more footage of Gustin in character out there.

Another neat switch is the DC version of the final stinger in the Infinity War trailer, which features Thor meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy. Here, Gustin’s Flash encounters DC’s version of a ragtag team of anti-heroes – the Suicide Squad, including the likes of Will Smith’s Deadshot and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.

Obviously, with a trailer this instantly iconic (it did break YouTube records, after all), fans have been making endless alternate twists on it. A couple of our favourites include an all-animated version featuring clips from the classic Marvel cartoons from the 1990s and another that imagined an Avengers-style team-up of classic Disney characters.

While these mock trailers are certainly fun, nothing compares to the excitement fans are feeling for the real thing, which should be here quite soon thankfully, as Avengers: Infinity War lands in cinemas on May 4th.
