Kevin Feige Strongly Suggests That The Wasp Will Be Suiting Up For Avengers 4

Looks like Evangeline Lilly's Wasp will be swinging by Avengers 4, after all, if a recent comment from Kevin Feige is to be believed.

Avengers: Infinity War was nothing if not ambitious.

Leading up to release, many feared the super-sized Marvel epic would buckle under its own colossal weight, though it’s a credit to Joe and Anthony Russo that the MCU crossover silenced the naysayers with its eye-popping spectacle and relatively focused story – that being Thanos’ pursuit of the six long-lost Infinity Stones.

And similar to how Ant-Man arrived on the heels of Avengers: Age of Ultron, its sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp is about to emerge from the shadow of Infinity War in the hope of delivering a fun-filled palate cleanser. Based on early reviews, Peyton Reed has achieved just that, leaving fans to wonder when we’ll next see Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp in action.

The former is all but locked for Avengers 4, and though it’s yet to be openly confirmed, Kevin Feige’s recent interview with ComicBook.com strongly suggests that Lilly has already shot scenes for the 2019 sequel.

I think she’s talked about it. There’s already been additional Wasp filming of her for future movies but she’s great. This whole movie was about putting her at the forefront and was about making good on the promise of the end of the last film where she says, ‘About damn time.’

He continued:

And that whole movie was about the fact that clearly she was qualified to put on a suit and do what was right but she kept being prevented by her father, for reasons that were revealed in that film and reasons that have to do with her mother and now, of course, she becomes the key hero to attempt to rescue her mom and seeing that father-daughter relationship repaired in this movie was something that was great fun for us and to see here step in the forefront.

Avengers 4 has currently been set for release on May 3rd, 2019, and while the Internet is already teeming with fan-made concept trailers, Marvel Studios isn’t expected to drop the real deal until the year’s end – ditto for the sequel’s mysterious title.
