Is Kong Mocap Actor Playing The Blood Brothers In Avengers: Infinity War?

Marvel have been teasing the arrival of Thanos for so long now that it's going to be surreal to watch the Titanian supervillain actually fighting the MCU's heroes. But, come next year's Avengers: Infinity War, we'll finally find out what delights their films have been teasing us with for so long. Before they get to take on the big cheese though, the Avengers will apparently have some tough henchmen to work through first.

Marvel have been teasing the arrival of Thanos for so long now that it’s going to be surreal to watch the Titanian supervillain actually fighting the MCU’s heroes. But, come next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, we’ll finally find out what delights their films have been teasing us with. Before the heroes get to take on the big cheese though, the Avengers will apparently have some tough henchmen to work through first.

That information comes courtesy of Kong: Skull Island mocap actor Terry Notary, who revealed in an interview with THR that he’s currently working on the hugely anticipated film:

I’m working on four characters right now. I’m working with Josh Brolin and three other actors [in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War], and I’m playing Josh Brolin’s right hand bad guy in the film. I can’t say the name of the character or I think Marvel will sever my head, but I apply those same principals of what it means to drop bullshit and just play a character truly evil. And it’s working. [Laughs] It’s truly working.

Let’s put our detective caps on for a second. We’ve got an actor currently famous for bringing to life a giant angry gorilla playing Thanos’ henchmen. So, let’s take a look at who could be considered the big bad’s henchmen. Why, what’s this? A pair of giant angry gorilla-men called ‘The Blood Brothers!’ First appearing in Iron Man #55 (Feb. 1973), the villains are “large ape-like aliens” who’re employed by Thanos as the guardians of his first base on Earth. Maybe Notary hasn’t been quite as subtle as he thinks?

It certainly wouldn’t be the first time a performance as King Kong led to more simian mocap work – look at Andy Serkis and his subsequent role in the Planet of the Apes revival. Either way, we should know more quite soon when the first teasers for Avengers: Infinity War start to arrive in front of Marvel’s 2017 slate.
