If the news that we may get to see Shia LaBeouf having real sex on a big screen isn’t enough to make you flee into the night, try this: we may get to see Tintin naked too! Twitch reports that The Adventures of Tintin star Jamie Bell has joined Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, along with Connie Nielsen of Gladiator fame.
The Nymphomaniac cast is at least stellar, with Bell and Nielsen only the newest additions. The film has already attracted stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, and Shia LaBeouf. There have also been reports that we may add Willem Dafoe and Nicole Kidman to the mix, but the producers have thus far declined to give any weight to those rumors.
Gainsbourg might be the titular character, but it was Shia LaBeouf who made headlines by proclaiming that all the sex scenes will be real. This presumably means that we’re going to see the Transformers star in a whole new, not entirely welcome, way. The producers have not gone along with that though, saying that there will be hefty use of “body doubles and visual effects.”
Real sex scenes or not, the director is known for courting controversy. There’s every chance that this two-part story about a woman’s erotic development will be heavy on the shocks. With the cast largely put together – the confirmed cast at least – it is all set to start shooting, and scaring the hell out of filmgoers everywhere.
Filming on Nymphomaniac begins tomorrow and will last for eleven weeks. We’ll keep you posted on anymore casting updates that arise.
