New York Comic Con may have wrapped up a few weeks back, but the deluge of trailers and teasers continues to bear fruit as Hollywood studios stoke excitement for their big-name 2017 blockbusters. Power Rangers is one such tentpole.
Eager to keep excitement ticking over after the blistering first teaser trailer, Lionsgate has now rolled out a new motion poster for Dean Israelite’s live-action reboot, rounding up our newfound heroes one Ranger at a time. If anything, it’s another opportunity to go up close and personal with the revamped suits, with the caption teasing that our Mighty Morphin’ leads must work together to fight for tomorrow.

As this is aligned as an origin story, it shouldn’t be all that surprising that we haven’t clocked eyes on Bryan Cranston’s Zordon just yet – Bill Hader’s Alpha 5 is another character that’s being kept under lock and key. Instead, the NYCC footage drew attention to Elizabeth Banks as the all-powerful Rita Replusa, an alien who descends on Angel Grove eager to unleash her wrath. She’s killed Rangers before, apparently, so our band of heroes will need to be on their toes.
Speaking of which, soon-to-be Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery headlines the new team as the Red Ranger, with Naomi Scott playing the Pink Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, Becky Gomez as the Yellow Ranger and RJ Cyler as the Blue Ranger.
Power Rangers is booked in for release on March 24, 2017. Lionsgate has been fairly bullish in its forecast of the series as well, claiming that Israelite’s live-action reboot could spawn a franchise of films.
