The next big thing in superhero cinema is definitely Black Panther, which will hit theaters in just over a month and a half. If you’re not at all familiar with T’Challa’s backyard, Wakanda is the Marvel equivalent of a high-tech utopia, one rich in the fictional metal of vibranium. It’s the lifeblood of Captain America’s famous shield, not to mention the Black Panther suit, which itself is due for a major upgrade next month.

All of that and more is teased in today’s new preview, as it places the focus on T’Challa himself, explaining to us that he’s not only a hero, but also a legend and a king. Though brief and made up mostly of recycled footage, it’s another tantalizing look at the film and even gives us a glimpse of that aforementioned new suit right at the end.

Not to mention that it teases a gripping and original slice of superhero fare, too, with the Afrofuturist stylings of Wakanda a much-needed bit of new territory for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Which, like the comics, often behaves as if New York is the centre of the universe.

Now that Coogler’s standalone pic has been named as one of 2018’s most-anticipated films, the excitement for T’Challa’s solo adventure is beginning to reach a fever pitch. And with a final trailer said to be premiering next week alongside the college football National Championship game on ESPN, you can readily expect one last look at Black Panther before it claws its way into theaters on February 16th.
