Looks Like Iris West Will Crop Up For A Cameo Role In Justice League After All

You can go ahead and add Iris West's name to the growing list of characters set to feature in Warner's Justice League movie.

It was almost written in the stars. Kiersey Clemons, the up-and-coming actress who first turned heads and raised eyebrows as Cassandra “Diggy” Andrews in Rick Famuyiwa’s rather excellent Dope, landed the coveted role of Iris West in The Flash solo movie last year, during which time Famuyiwa was still attached to direct.

Sadly, that reunion wasn’t to be, after Famuyiwa bowed out of the standalone project citing creative differences – the same reasoning for Seth Grahame-Smith’s abrupt departure – and though nothing has been set in stone at the time of writing, Kingsman director Matthew Vaughn has reportedly emerged as the latest frontrunner to helm the Barry Allen solo gig. Whether that holds true will be told in time, but one thing’s for sure: The Flash isn’t quite out of the woods yet when it comes to those production woes.

But it seems those pining to see Clemons as Iris West won’t have to wait until the Scarlet Speedster’s troubled spinoff finally emerges onto the silver screen, as Clemons recently revealed to Modeliste Magazine (via Screen Rant) that her Justice League cameo is already in the can.

This November, I’m making a cameo in Justice League as Iris West and it’s the first time that you meet her before we get to see her in The Flash with Ezra Miller. It was my first time doing something so extravagant like that. We filmed in London and that’s one of my favorite places.

Currently in the process of capturing reshoots in Bedfordshire, England – reshoots that will seemingly add one or two Wonder Woman flashback scenesJustice League is on course for a theatrical release on November 17th. Joss Whedon has been appointed at the helm in place of the outgoing Zack Snyder – a personal tragedy led to Snyder stepping down – which ought to give the filmmaker a taste of the DC Extended Universe ahead of his own Batgirl solo movie.
