UK cinema chain Odeon have released a new TV spot for Deadpool today, and it’s packed full of awesome scenes from the movie, which is now only a week away. However, this one is a little on the spoiler-y side, especially as it appears to contain some key scenes from the final act as the Merc with the Mouth battles it out with Ajax. Despite talk of a lower budget because of the R-Rating, these effects look fantastic, something which perhaps shouldn’t come as a surprise seeing as VFX wiz Tim Miller is at the helm.
Bear in mind that the studio has reportedly put the Deadpool sequel in the slot held by Fantastic Four 2, so things are certainly looking good for Wade Wilson right about now. We’ll just have to wait and see how it all pans out at the box office, but if the film’s unique marketing campaign has paid off, Deadpool might just end up exceeding expectations.
Of course, the first wave of reviews from fans who caught early screenings of the movie have been overwhelmingly positive, while box office analysts believe it will open with upwards of $55 million. As a result, it really does seem as if the movie is going to end up being a hit.
Starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.
