Lucasfilm Drops New Trailer For Star Wars Celebration 2019

Are you attending Star Wars Celebration 2019? If not, then you might want to watch this trailer, as it could change your mind.

For its upcoming 20th anniversary, the one-of-a-kind Star Wars Celebration is heading to Chicago, where McCormick Place will play host to all manner of galactic trinkets and stage shows over the weekend of April 12th, 2019.

The five-day event actually kicks off in earnest the day before, on April 11th, with tickets having gone on sale earlier this morning over on Lucasfilm’s dedicated site. Little is currently known about the 2019 showcase at this stage, but we’re sure it’ll be another landmark event for the beloved space opera, not least because Episode IX is scheduled for release next Christmas – which means SWC could give us our first look at it.

Per Lucasfilm, Star Wars Celebration 2019 promises to be an “exciting convention filled with entertainment, celebrity appearances, stage shows, panels, interactive events, exclusive merchandise, screenings, and once-in-a-lifetime glimpses into the future of the epic saga.”

It’s also the 13th Star Wars Celebration and the first one since 2017, which was a particularly memorable outing as it marked Harrison Ford’s first ever celebration, along with tons of new information and looks at The Last Jedi. All of this was framed by a 40-year anniversary toast to the Star Wars franchise, too, which continues to inspire and enthrall even to this day.

And though the beloved series saw its first real flop recently in Solo, the future still looks incredibly bright, what with the aforementioned Episode IX in development, not to mention spinoffs for characters such as Boba Fett and Obi-Wan. Expect to hear all about that and more at next year’s Star Wars Celebration, which will undoubtedly be another memorable event that you don’t want to miss.
