Marvel Disappoints Yet Again With Latest Avengers: Infinity War Promo

Is there a bigger film on the 2018 calendar than Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War? Probably not, and even with Black Panther clawing its way into theaters this weekend, all eyes are still firmly fixed on the upcoming event movie to see if Marvel can possibly deliver. We're inclined to believe that they will, since after all, when have they ever let us down? But we won't know for sure until May 4th.

Until then, we’re continuing to enjoy the studio’s marketing campaign thus far. After a stellar teaser trailer and an equally exciting Super Bowl spot, we’ve now got this new promo that they dropped on the Disney Channel tonight. Although, we’re not so sure that we can call it “new,” as once again, Marvel has seemingly pulled a fast one on us all.

Similar to the situation we saw a few weeks back, what we have here is basically just the first teaser plus that aforementioned Super Bowl promo recut and shortened, with nothing we haven’t seen before. Well, aside from that intro by Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland, that is.

Given that Marvel probably has all hands on deck for Black Panther at the moment – which is on pace for a record breaking opening, might we add – it’s understandable that they don’t have time to be cutting together new trailers for Infinity War just yet. But still, to promise us a new preview and then deliver this….well, let’s just say Marvel fans aren’t very happy right now. And understandably so.

True, you can certainly do a lot worse than waste a minute of your time watching what is, admittedly, hugely exciting footage from the year’s biggest release, but a lot of people were expecting at least a few new shots, and unfortunately, this promo has nothing of the sort. It’s a shame, sure, but at the same time, we’ve already been treated to two truly excellent previews and as such, we’re willing to forgive the studio.

Besides, with Avengers: Infinity War now barreling down on its May 4th release date, we imagine it won’t be too much longer before we get some fresh footage.
