It’s still a bit hard to believe, but Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are finally reuniting to bring us Jason Bourne, the fifth film in Universal’s lucrative franchise based on Robert Ludlum’s novels. The latest entry is due out later this month, on the 29th to be exact, and sees the titular spy trying to “uncover hidden truths about his past.”
Set several years after his disappearance in The Bourne Ultimatum, the film will find Damon’s character “unexpectedly resurface at a time when the world is faced with unprecedented instability.” A bit vague for a plot description, sure, but with the flick currently gearing up to touch down in theatres, we’ll no doubt learn more about what Jason Bourne has been up to over the past few years sooner rather than later.
With the marketing machine for the film starting to kick into high gear, a bevy of new still have been released today, showcasing some behind the scenes shots along a few stills from the blockbuster itself. They can all be seen in the gallery above, along with some previously released photos, and on the whole, they do paint a fairly clear picture of what we can expect to see here.
With Damon and Greengrass both returning to the franchise, I really don’t think fans have anything to worry about. This actor/director team have proven themselves several times already and when it comes to the Bourne series in particular, they really know how to hit their stride.
